[내외신문 - 황덕현기자]?2014년 4월 14일 국내 모터 스포츠의 대중화를 선도하는 슈퍼레이스(대표이사 김준호)가 14일 잠실종합운동장에서 미디어데이를 갖고 'CJ 헬로모바일 슈퍼레이스 챔피언쉽'의 2014시즌 개막을 알렸다.

?올해로 9년째를 맞이하는 '2014 CJ헬로모바일 슈퍼레이스 챔피언쉽'은 오는 4월 20일 태백레이싱파크에서 열리는 개막전을 시작으로 총 8전을 걸쳐 진행된다. 8전 경기 중 3번의 경기는 일본 1회와 중국 2회에서 개최해 명실상부 동아시아 대표 모터 스포츠대회로 자리매김 할 예정이다. 특히, 슈퍼레이스 챔피언쉽의 4개 클래스 중 메인 클래스인 '슈퍼6000클래식'에는 사상 최대인 13개팀 총 20대의 6,200cc급 '괴물카'스톡카가 출전해 2014년 시즌을 더욱 뜨겁게 달굴 예정이다.

또한, 이번 시즌부터는 '팀 포인트 제도'를 도입해 각 팀의 경쟁력 강화에 나선다. 경기 결과에 따라 선수들에게 부여되는 순위별 포인트뿐만 아니라 팀에도 포인트를 포인트에 부여해 드라이버의 기량과 더불어 감독, 미케닉, 매니저 등 모든 팀원들의 역량을 팀으ㄹ써 평가하는 제도로 팀별 소속감도 한층 커져 경기력 향상에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

?이 날 미디어데이 행사에서는 김진표, 김동은, 황진우 등 대한민구 대표 드라이버들이 스톡카를 타고 등장해 화려한 퍼모먼스를 선보여 눈길을 끌었다. 이에 더해 올 시즌 슈퍼레이스 챔피언쉽의 최대 관전포인트로 손꼽히는 신,구 라이버들이 차례로 등장해 시즌에 대한 기대감을 한층 더 높였다. '슈퍼6000클래스'에 처음 출전하는 방송인 겸 드라이버 김진표와 류시원, 원년 라이벌 김의수와 조항우, 새로운 다크호스 김중군과 이건희, 이문성 등이 이번 시즌에 임하는 각오를 밝혔으며, 디펜딩 챔피언인 황진우와 무한도전 '스피드레이서'의 멘토로 알려진 김동은이 등장해 2014시즌 격전을 예고했다.

이외에도 방송인 서유리가 2014 시증 슈퍼레이스 명예 드라이버로 위촉되는 등 다양한 이벤트가 진행됐다. 명예드라이버로 위촉된 서유리는 "프로레이싱에 평소 많은 관심을 가지고 있었는데 이렇게 명예 드라이버로 위촉되어 기쁘다"며?올해 슈퍼레이스 챔피언쉽도 많은 팬들과 함께 즐겼으면 좋겠다."고 소감을 밝혔다

?이번 행사를 주관하는 슈퍼레이스의 김준호 대표는 "국내 모터스포츠 발전을 선도해 온 슈퍼레이스 채챔피언쉽은 '모터스포츠'가 매니아 뿐 아니라 일반인들도 쉽게 즐길 수 있는 새로운 여가문화로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 매년 다양한 시도를 하고 있다."며 "어린이날 이벤트, 한-중 모터스포츠 페스티벌, 나이트레이스 등 일반의 관심을 끌 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 마련해 국내 모터스포츠 대중화에 한발 더 앞서가는 한 해가 될것이다."며 올해의 비전을 말했다.

한편, 오는 8월에는 중국 대표 모토스포츠대회인 CTCC(차이나투어링카챔피언쉽)와 함께 아시아 모터 팬들의 관심을 집중시킬 한-중 최대규모 모터 페스티벌 코리아 코리아 인터내셔널 서킷에서 개최한다. 이 대회에서는 두 주관사의 경기뿐만 아니라 슈퍼가 레이스 등 다양한 볼거리를 제공할 예정이다.
